Hi All,

I was hoping you would have some friendly advice and info about using your work in an online portfolio website.

I have a number of pieces of work that I have done for other companies that use licensed model imagery owned by the company I did the work for while employed by an agency. I was planning on putting a small ©2008 OwningCompany on the bottom to be on the safe side. Before I put anything up, I just want to make sure I am able to use these without getting into any sort of licensing issues. I don't need angry models coming after me.

Also, what are your thoughts on using other pieces that are the intellectual property of another company? There are a number of stationary lines, postcards, T-shirt and apparel designs and more that I have done while employed for a company. While they own all copyright and rights to the image, I did create all images myself digitally and by hand illustration. I went through my company handbook and it doesn't say anything about using work in portfolio, but I did receive numerous verbal confirmations that I am able to have copies of all final digital work and all work produced for use in my portfolio.

Any information and help would be awesome! I don't like lawsuits. Or having to take my website down, cuz it's pretty gorgeous, if I may say so myself.

Took Heidi and Misty for a walk around Beecraigs Country Park on Tuesday. It was a really nice day and it was so lovely and peaceful to be outside. Walked through the woods for a while and around the loch, even managed to avoid getting attacked by geese.

So, what's up in LJ-land these days? I've been pretty busy lately because work's giving me more hours. Which is great, because YAY, money! But not so great for keeping up with the internets. I have been skimming my flist, so I think I've seen everything important, but I may have missed something along the way. So if there was a post I really should have responded to feel free to let me know here.

Another reason I haven't been around so much lately is that I'm trying to watch all of Doctor Who in order. Someone on my flist mentioned they were doing it and it sounded like a good idea, so I figured why not? I just finished The Keys of Marinus, and I must say I'm really enjoying myself so far. I thought about posting reviews of the serials as I watched them, but I realized they would end up being all "OMG, I love this so much!!!" and no one wants to read that. Really though, you should all go watch the first season for yourselves- it's pretty much entirely Made of Awesome.

Jon Stewart just made fun of my city. I should probably be insulted by that, but then again Wilkes-Barre is pretty funny.

So on Monday I wasn't feeling too good. Which in turn had got me in a pretty bad mood. The original plan for the day had been to go to Beecraigs but I didn't feel up to that so we decided to do Cairnpapple instead.

We drove through Linlithgow and up into the Bathgate hills only to discover the entrance was closed due to roadworks. So we followed the diversion which sort of turned into a magical mystery tour. We spotted a small car park at the foot of a small hill and parked. There were a couple of other cars and a man at the top so we climbed up (all the while I presumed this was Cairnpapple) and when we got to the top asked the man for directions. Climbed back down, while doing so spotting a farmer sunbathing with his shirt off in a field of sheep on a neighbouring hill, and got back in the car to continue up the road.
